Puurfection was born out of two very personal and powerful journeys of recovery and resilience. Our founders, Ben Wild and Ashley Day, have faced their own life challenges, both physically and mentally, and have turned their experiences into a passion for helping others.

Ben Wild's Journey

Ben Wild, our co-founder and director, served in the military from January 2000 until October 2013, until his career came to a sudden halt after suffering a severe injury while serving in Iraq.

This life-altering event brought immense physical and mental challenges, pushing Ben to explore alternative ways to support his recovery. As part of his healing process, Ben discovered the transformative benefits of introducing natural foods into his diet such as Lion’s Mane mushrooms.

Incorporating this powerful fungus into his daily routine helped him regain focus, cognitive function, and mental clarity. Inspired by his personal experience, Ben went on to establish Wild Greens Farm, a family-run business that grows and supplies micro-greens and edible flowers to the hospitality industry.

Now, with a renewed mission, Ben has teamed up with his co-founder Ashley Day to launch Puurfection! A brand dedicated to producing healthy living foods such 100% fruiting body Lion’s Mane supplements and other natural products which are great for health and wellbeing. Through Puurfection, Ben hopes to provide others with natural tools to overcome their own physical and mental hurdles, just as he did.

Ashley Day's Story

Ashley Day, our co-founder, has been navigating life’s challenges from a very young age. Diagnosed with ADHD at the age of five, and as a young carer for his parents, Ashley grew up in a demanding environment.

He was raised by two severely disabled parents, his father, born with cerebral palsy, and his mother, who battles bipolar disorder and chronic fatigue. These personal circumstances shaped Ashley's understanding of both mental and physical resilience and fuelled his desire to find natural solutions for maintaining a healthy body and equally the mind.

Like Ben, Ashley found that products like Lion's Mane, Maca and Ashwagandha offered significant support in managing his focus, energy levels, and overall well-being.

His journey led him to join forces with Ben to create Puurfection, with the shared goal of making high-quality, natural supplements accessible to everyone who needs them.
